lamb

I tried making lamb for the first time for Easter last Sunday and I am pleased to report that it went quite well. Even the people who don’t generally like lamb enjoyed it. The leftovers were also especially enjoyable when made into Gyros on Monday night (with homemade tzatziki sauce!). I’ll also mention that the potatoes were quite yummy, and that’s coming from a person who usually does not like potatoes unless they’re whipped up with lots of cheese and cream. Here is the recipe I used. The lamb was from WinCo in the pre-wrapped package, so I imagine that a fresher leg of lamb would be even tastier!!

Easter Skirts

I’m also in the middle of making Easter skirts for Ophelia and Mira. I’m using a faux Dupioni silk in gold with a sheer embroidered overlay in ivory. We’ll also be attempting to add some volume with eggplant colored tulle underneath it all. Here is little M helping me…

My Cherry Blossom Wreath

As warned, I bought 2 sprays (?) of silk white cherry blossoms, 1 other purple floral thing, a wreath and some wire. Much to my delight, even Ben said he liked the finished product!

Cherry Blossom Wreath

I’ll be attempting to make a wreath similar to this Cherry Blossom Wreath in preparation for our 2009 Easter celebration.

Cherry Blossom Wreath

I’ll need

  • 16 cherry blossom or similar fruit tree branches, about 2-feet long
  • Floral wire
  • Wire cutters

I’m also seeking your ideas and traditions for Easter as we are trying to embrace Easter as our better-then-Christmas holiday.
