Win a mamaRoo Infant Seat

Bella So Savvy and 4moms are hosting a mamaRoo Swing Giveaway!

Enter at Bella So Savvy’s website before August 19th for a chance to win!

I mentioned here that I was tackling the art of knitting. I’ve continued to power on through and have cranked out a few hats and socks, a sweater, and even a little pair of booties. I love the hats because they’re simple and easy to work on away from home (like when we’re at my parents’ for the weekend), as opposed to something like, oh I dunno, a queen sized quilt. Here is my greatest triumph – a hat and booties for a precious little girl born last month.

The pattern for the booties can be found here (look in the right hand column for the free pdf). They were fairly simple and forgiving, and they have a nice elasticity so I think they’ll fit her for a little while!

Grilled Salmon with Lime Butter and Chilled Fruit Soup

  • Grilled Salmon with Lime Butter Sauce: We tripled the garlic, but otherwise stuck with the recipe. It was amazing! The lime butter also made a perfect baguette dip.
  • Cold Honeydew and Mint Soup in Cantaloupe: Instead of serving it in the cantaloupe, I just pureed it all together and added in some grapes for more flavor. Make sure you have ample time to chill it.
  • Green Salad: Spinach, carrots, radish, sprouts. Oil and vinegar dressing.
  • Crostini with boursin cheese: toast the baguette slices and spread with cheese after cooling.
  • Grapes.
  • Served with a dry white wine.
  • Dessert was Mandarin Orange Sherbert from Safeway.

Prep to Served time was 2 hours.
