I alluded to oven roasted maple bacon back in my mother’s day post, and I think it’s about time to post the recipe! So it’s maybe not so much a recipe as just a ‘bacon cooking trick’, but I’ll share it anyway.
It’s really simple, just watch. Grab a cookie rack and set it in a jelly roll pan. Arrange bacon on the rack that is in the jelly roll pan. Drizzle bacon with maple syrup (the real stuff). Pop in a 350 oven for about 20 minutes (I pop it in before I hop in the shower) and voila! Beautiful, oh-so-tasty maple bacon! And putting it on the cookie rack allows the fat to drain off so you have nice even cooking which far surpasses anything done in a pan or microwave.
And it’s always fun to see your family doing the zombie walk out of their rooms as they follow their noses to the smell of baking maple bacon.
